Mike Goodwin


Senior Editor of Public Relations

Mike Goodwin is Senior Editor of Public Relations for Nick Fowler Writing Services. A results-driven team-builder dedicated to elevating others, Mike is a seasoned grant-writer, public relations and corporate communications professional with more than 35 years of expertise in grant writing, entertainment innovation, reputation building and repair, financial services, professional services, technology and crisis communications. Mike and Nick became brothers for life at Maclay School in Tallahassee where they co-captained the 1985 Brain Brawl (a quiz competition modeled on Jeopardy) team that won the Leon County tournament. With an uncanny gift for thinking out of the box, Mike is an internationally-recognized thought-leader with a proven history of building reputations and increasing revenue across the gamut of industries.

Throughout his career, Mike has written over 50 successful grant proposals and developed and executed public relations programs for clients including CW Capital, AMB Property and Coldwell Banker Commercial, Russell Reynolds Associates, Blank Rome, and Venable. Mike has served as spokesperson and corporate communications manager for Pepsi Bottling Group, Xerox and International Paper. In this capacity, he was the primary liaison between corporate communications, finance and general counsel, developing key messages and acting as a spokesperson on issues including financial disclosures, property holdings, litigation, mergers & acquisitions, labor relations, government regulation and environmental affairs.

Mike is an experienced crisis communications professional and has led initiatives from both corporate and agency perspectives to determine reputational risk, develop messaging and engage media and stakeholders as spokesperson to protect and enhance brand equity.

Mike is an altruist who thrives under pressure in fast-paced corporate environments, highly gifted at solving problems with innovative solutions. Mike received numerous industry awards throughout his career, including recognition from the Public Relations Society of America, the American Business Awards and the SABRE Awards. Mike graduated Salutatorian from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science. He lives with his wife and family in Westchester, New York.

Chris Parker is a Senior Editor for Nick Fowler Writing Services who scored perfectly on his SAT before everyone learned all the tricks from sleazy test prep courses.  Widely known as the smartest person on the planet, CP, this millennium’s answer to Hunter S. Thompson, has a heart of gold and a tireless work ethic. CP has covered the gamut as a brilliant and fearless freelance journalist, from news and policy, to sports and entertainment. His byline has appeared in a staggering array of the world’s most circulated publications including Variety, Billboard, Hollywood Reporter, The Guardian, Jerusalem Post, The Daily Beast, and NPR, and his cover stories have graced alt-weeklies from coast-to-coast, investigating topics including corporate tax dodges, for-profit colleges, Medicare fraud, Anonymous, gut bacteria, and Monsanto for The Village Voice, LA Weekly, Seattle Weekly, Houston Press, Dallas Observer, San Antonio Current, Phoenix New Times, City Pages and SF Weekly. Chris “Garkner” Parker spent three years in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ locker room as beat reporter for the local alt-weekly, attending every home game and following the team for their road playoff games which featured the greatest championship comeback in NBA history as Cleveland came back from a 3-1 deficit to win the 2016 title. That magical year became the subject of the acclaimed sports drama King James Brings the Land a Crown: The Definitive Tale of the Cavaliers’ 2016 Title Run.  

Chris Parker has interviewed famous rock stars, White House economic advisors, senators, matinee idols, scientists and porn stars, and has a knack for elegantly conveying complex ideas and understanding varied perspectives.  Chris graduated Valedictorian from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Lit with minors in Drama and Psychology.


Executive Director

Walt Trask, a paragon of manners and compassion, is the Executive Director of Nick Fowler Writing Services. A financial wizard and keeper of secrets, a brilliant creative writer and empathic team-builder who never loses his cool, Walt excels at diplomancy and problem-solving in his other job as Senior Vice President of International Trade Finance with Comerica Bank in San Francisco. Walt boasts over 30 years’ expertise in marketing, structuring and managing business transactions for clients involved in cross-border trade. Walt is also treasurer, board member and fundraiser for Fotokids, Inc., a non-profit organization providing photographic art skills and formal education, elementary through university, to impoverished Guatemala youth. Walt graduated Dean’s List with a BA in Economics & Latin American Studies from the State University of New York and earned his Master of International Business from the University of San Diego. His gift for creative writing has led him to the University of California, Berkeley, where he is completing the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Writing. Walt lives in San Francisco, California and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico with his partner, Patrick, and their ageless doggie, Cokie.
